Gubernatorial Acceptance Address: Breaking Free From Political Imposition

"Our state does not belong to a cabal of political godfathers. Ogun State belongs to the market woman in Ifo, the farmer in Yewa, the artisan in Sagamu, and the youth seeking dignity and opportunity."

Distinguished leaders of the National Rescue Movement, party delegates from our 20 Local Government Areas, elders of our land, resilient market women, energetic youth vanguards, and fellow citizens of Ogun State:

Today, I stand before you with a deep sense of humility, gratitude, and historic responsibility as I accept your resounding nomination as the Gubernatorial Candidate of our great party for the 2027 Ogun State Governorship Election.

For too long, our dear Gateway State has been trapped in a vicious cycle of political godfatherism, where leaders are selected in cozy Lagos living rooms rather than by the sovereign will of Ogun indigenes. The consequences of this imposition are visible all around us: collapsed commuter corridors connecting our borders, secondary schools without roofs, hospitals operating as mere prescription dispensaries, and our 20 local governments completely castrated of their constitutional resources.

I say to you today: enough is enough! Our campaign is not merely about winning an election; it is about rescuing the future of Ogun State. We are building a movement rooted in the soil of every ward, every hamlet, and every city center. From the industrial corridors of Ota and Sagamu to the agrarian breadbaskets of Odeda and Yewa, we shall return governance to the people. Together, we shall birth a new dawn of accountable, grassroots prosperity!
